I seem to remember that the last time Brighton visited Old Trafford in 1993, Malcolm Stuart proposed to his girlfirend over the pa system. Embarrassingly I think she turned him down. Does anyone remember the details and did he get over the heartbreak of it all?

I remember it flashed up on the screen at halftime, don't think it was announced over the PA system though

News filtered back to the North Stand the following week that she'd turned him down, poor bloke

BTW does anyone else think that Malcolm the physio has not aged in all his time at BHA?!!! He looks no different than he did years ago, is he going to live to 152 like Tom Hanks in "The Green Mile"?!!

The Green Mile is one of the most shockingly awful, laughable films I have seen in many years. It was CRAP with a capital C

Definitely came up on the board at half time, and the Argus helpfully published the details, just to further heap more humiliation on poor old Malcolm when she told him to go stick his magic sponge where the sun didn't shine.

It definitely wasn't Malcolm Stuart.

We had a blonde fella as the physio, and I'm sure he left soon afterwards, and went to work for Liverpool. I guess he left to distance himself from the embarrassment. Seems to have worked as you all reckon it was Malcolm.

Was it Mark somebody. Dunno the name will come to me but it was NOT Malcolm.

It definately WAS Malcolm Stuart. I worked with the woman who turned him down. She was a nurse at Worthing/Southlands hospital. She was incredibly embarressed by it all and never really got over it. She hated it being known that she was seeing Malcolm 'cos she didn't like the limelight that went with being involved with someone from a football Club.
BTW Mark's surname was Leather. Co-incidently and very boringly, his wife was a physio at Worthing/Southlands Hospital as well!!
So it seems that all any future BHA physio needs to do is to get along to a 999 night on the last Thursday of the month at Lush and find themselves a future partner!!! :lolol: :lolol:
