On a train...
I've been listening to Queen recently and seen the Live Aid DVD. I think Freddie Mercury has to be one of the, if not the greatest singer to ever grace this planet.

Is there anyone better?

Freddie is badly missed, may he rest in peace. I remember at Wembley in 1986 when he was in concert saying to the crowd that Queen would be together til they "f***ing Die"

Frank Sinatra is bloody COOL.
Bruce Springsteen, not technically a great singer but his slighty rough voice is fabulous IMO.
Davey Havoc from AFI, probably the best Punk Rock singer I know!

There was some programme on not long ago about Freddie (think it might have been that Hall of Fame thing on Ch 4) that had a load of people on it saying that his range was better than anyone elses ever and he could hit notes that nobody else could even dream of doing (something to do with all that bumming I imagine).

Personally I think Justin Timberlake is quite good.

:)

The first two maybe, but the singer of Ah Ha, just slipped in as cream puff surely???

Frank Sinatra - 50 year career and just check out the singers on both Duet albums who were desperate to sing with him, when he was over 80

Thats because the boys paid them a friendly visit first. Offered to introduce them to "the fishes".
