My friend is a Bournmouth fan and he puts it all down to one of their strikers missing an open goal in the cup that would have put Utd out and got fergie sacked.

I think it is all Leslie Ash's fault. If she had not shagged Cantona, Lee Chapman would never have demanded that Cantona not play in the same team. He would never have gone to Utd and they would have had to put up with Dion Dublin up front.

If only Ash could have kept her legs together.

Luck. Both of those things happening to Fergie propelled Manure to win the first Premiership title & the Millions of pounds that followed. :censored:

The relentless global marketing of what has now become a brand is to blame in my book.

In particular they took "Football Club" off the bottom rocker on their club badge approximatley four or five seasons ago. This then opened up the Asian and North American markets, and added to their stock market value overnight.

Are we talking about Ferguson or Man Utd here?

Man Utd were good in the 1960's when recovering from the Munich air crash.
George Best scored 6 goals in a 5th round FA Cup match in 67

1968 Man Utd 4 Benefica 1 in the European Cup final

I blame thingy Edwards for sacking Ron Atkinson. I wish they'd buy people like Ralph Milne and John Sivabaek these days.

Or Sheffield Wednesday. If only they'd sold overrated David Hirst to Taggart for £3.5m just a week before he basically ruined his career by breaking his leg.

I blame the Media.
The Media big them up, and glory supporters love it.

Exactly, I turned the sound off last night as I got fed up with the way sky were portraying Ferdinand and Cantona's returns as the best thing since Jesus' return

FFS, Ferdinand is a drug cheat at worst or a high paid player with no respect for authority at best. Cantona attacked a fan.

What sort of role model are the media trying to give the kids

Come of it! He was a palace fan!

I blame two things. The signing of Cantona and the Water board in the late 70s. Whatever they were putting in the water then must have worked!

Beckham, Giggs, Butt, Scholes, The Nevilles etc United's success has always been built around this rich wave of home grown talent.

Now have a look at the Albion's first team, the futures bright... :)

Mark Robins, on a great January FA Cup third-round double header for me personally in 1990. A Forest mate came to Brighton v Luton on the Saturday (4-1), and we went to the City Ground for Forest v Man Utd on the Sunday.

United were near the bottom of the table, Forest were top or second. They battered United all game, had a goal disallowed, and Robins nicked it. Fergie had been in charge for just over three years and they were shite. He has basically admitted since if they lost he would have been out, but won the Cup which bought him some time.

In my experience of living there for three years it was always City. They got to lordit up for twenty odd years too as they were the last Manchester club to win the title between 1968 and 1993

Yep correct everyone.:clap2: I had a chat with a mate from the north and he told me that in most bars and clubs in Manchester, you would get beaten up by City fans if you supported United. Just a useless question. I think its down to their marketing that has made them suscessful.

Bournemouth fans blame Reading for their misfortunes in recent years. We stopped them getting in the playoffs in 2001 with a 3-3 home draw in the last minute. Then we relegated them the following season with another 3-3 home draw in the last minute! Their fella Wade Elliott skied a penalty into the stars that sent them down instead of them winning 4-3!

Marvellous scenes! :clap2:

Poor old Bournemouth. I remember driving back from Port Vale after we had celebrated the Div Two championship with yet another win, and passing Bournemouth fans on the motorway who had just got relegated. The tactful thing to do would have been to not gloat through the car window about the fact we were now two divisions apart. Sadly, that didn't happen. :D

I found that where I worked there were more utd fans than city. Also, Manchester has a lot of ethnic comunities, who traditionally favour utd more.

I have no doubt that a higher proportion of city's fans live in Manchester but that does not mean there are more city fans in Manchester.

Imagine a glory supporter visiting manchester, and wearing his red top thinking he'll get open arms and comped ales !

The boot would likely get laid in big, and red would flow alright.

It would def. be better to be a BHAFC glory supporter visiting Brighton :drink: :drink: :drink:
