The new Whitehawk manager Richard Hill managed him at Eastleigh, Obviously that's the connection.

Richard Hill's four new signings are Ben Strevens - his captain at Eastleigh, Dan Harding, who he managed at Eastleigh, and two current Eastleigh reserves, on loan.

Hill has an exhaustive book of contacts in the game.

Got sacked. Way too exotic.

The conference DEMANDS that all managers be English, overweight, balding and SHOUTY.

A;part from Steve Evans of course, who was all of those things, except English.

On a separate note, although Richard Hill, and the football his teams seem to play can be labelled dour, that kind of approach can be successful in the Conference, and he could well stabilize the fast sinking ship that has been Whitehawk since Steven King's dismissal.

Sorry - I should, of course, have written BRITISH rather than English. Some of the very best examples of shouty, bald, overweight Conference managers are Scots.

He once would have been correct, Brighton's old eastern parish boundary ran along the slope of Race Hill. The valley itself was situated in Ovingdean parish. That is until all of Ovingdean was transferred to Brighton in 1928.
