Apparently he was ill but he was at the game waving and smiling so he couldn't have been ill.

He bottled it.

I don't reckon he bottled it at all. My theory is that Ian Hart announced that "we hope to get him on the programme next Saturday" before asking the Club whether this was possible.

DK wasn't around for most of the week, since he was ill. When he eventually got to hear about Ian Hart's plans, he probably thought that he was being taken for granted and decided not to appear. Alternatively, he might have had other stuff to do after the game.

DK has never been a man to jump to the tune played by the media.

So what happened to DKs policy of being the peoples Chairman?

I though he liked a bit of publicity and he was more than helpful to the blokes from ITV Sport?

If he has nothing to hide from us why not come on and answer a few questions?

After all we are the people who are paying these players wages,so we are entitled to ask a few questions arent we?

Also on another point,When was the last fans forum?Seems to have gone very quiet on that front as well recently!

There was one arranged for the beginning of August and the day was changed by SCR because they wanted to broadcast it without checking to see if MM was available (which he wasn't)

The club have been pretty busy since then.

Not the same as being the media's chairman, though, izzit?

Harty on SCR has, with the best will in the world, slightly oversold this thing about getting Dick Knight in the phone-in. It's suddenly made "when is he going to appear on SCR" the main issue, rather than huge issues like Falmer or developing the team.

I feel Harty will get more success getting people on his show if he conducts his negotiations quietly and diplomatically. Constantly issuing invitations to Knight to appear on his programme smacks somewhat of "megaphone diplomacy". Again, no disrespect to Harty who does a great show much admired by all, and who is only pushing this because he wants the best for all Albion fans.

Its all ego.

You make a big song and dance that someone is coming on your show without actually asking them first and then act surprised when they don't turn up.

Reminds me of a 5 year olds birthday party.

Personally I was too pleased with the weekends results to bring myself down and listen to Harty.

I do sometimes wonder what the club has to do to keep people happy.
How many years since Hereford?.... What have we achieved in that time?

Be constructive don't whinge.

I didnt expect him to be on Harty's show because there is a rumbling about Cardiff Play Off money does anybody know if we have received it definitely.
Ill or not I think that illustrates quite neatly why he's not keen to appear. As well as answering obvious questions that actually if they think about properly every one knows the answer to (what happened to the Zamora money, why didn't we sign more players, where are the extra seats etc) he's going to have to answer ones like that.

Where on earth have you heard those 'rumblings'? And DON'T mutter darkly about 'people I can't name'. Surely not more unsubstantiated rumour from your barfly cronies? Not everything you hear in a pub (or read on NSC) is true you know.

Sorry, I've just seen your post on your 'Where are the successors?' thread. You state that the Football League have withheld Playoff cash because of financial irregularities at the club. This is obviously a serious allegation and needs investigating. It does prove my point though that it's a stupid question to ask on a radio phone-in:

BG: "Is it true that the FL have withheld playoff cash because of financial irregularities at the club?"
DK: "Yes. I've been secretly siphoning off funds but it looks like you've rumbled me."

Joking aside you have GOT to carry this forward. I'm sure you wouldn't have made such an allegation (even in such a rumour factory as NSC) unless you were confident of your source. It is now more important than ever that you name names.

Lord Bracknell has already touched on this, but the reason why the chairman chose not to go on air is because Southern Counties (Ian Hart) advertised the Saturday before last that Dick would be on the phone-in.

This was before they'd had the courtesy to ask him. A request was made to the club on the Tuesday, but after serious consideration Dick declined, largely because this style of hand-forcing has happened before; therefore in this instance Dick chose not to go on.

Good for him! Put Ian Hart in his place - he should learn some manners!

How would he like it if Dick Knight announced on a Tuesday afternoon that he was hijacking SCR's phone-in on Saturday for a club propoganda-fest ?? :nono:

Insider, surely Dick must realise that it looks worse to the majority of supporters that Dick declined the offer regardless of the circumstance?

Most Albion fans with the requisite number of brain cells will have worked out this is what happened, but it's good to have it confirmed.
