At the beginning of the year, Palace were in 12th place on 22 points, level with Villa in 11th.

Role on 3 months and Palace have somehow kept hold of their 12th position by averaging a pitiful 1.6 points per month whilst Villa have pulled an 11 point gap on them. Catching Villa (or any of the the top ten) they are not.

Shockingly, they’ve failed to win this year, the worst record out of all the 92 professional clubs, but the football gods have looked very kindly and sympathetically on them (as usual) and decided not to take away their 12th position! 😡

They now sit just 4 points off the bottom with many teams below them having games in hand. What’s more, they have played the vast majority of their games against top 10 teams (like us) so will be battling the teams around them. Will that be an advantage?

Is it just a matter of time before they slip down or will the football gods and their cunning veteran manager be able to keep them in 12th? If they do lose their place, when will it happen?

No brainer - will be after the Leicester game. At best the lot from SE25 will get a point and I think there will be a result (yes I know a draw is a result but I obviously mean a win/loss) between Forest and Wolves.

But and the big difference is the widening gap between 11th and 12th, it’s now a massive 11 points, hopefully they will keep up their current run of form and plummet to where they belong.

Silly thread. With Roy at the wheel it should be 'what game will they move to 11th'. Then its only a matter of time before they overhaul us.

I learned lately that Roy went and played for an all white team in South Africa when most of the sporting world was boycotting the place. Its okay though as it was for 'footballing reasons', honest. He's a cuddly grandpa awesome manager don't cha know?

This international break will have given the stink of Hodgson's depressing football time to really bed in. They'll lose to Leicester. I hope.
