As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, the last time Brighton & Hove Albion finished above Tottenham Hotspur in the league was during the 1977-1978 season. In that season, Brighton finished in 19th place in the old First Division, while Tottenham finished in 20th place, resulting in Brighton finishing above them. However, please note that league positions can change in subsequent seasons, and it's always a good idea to check the most recent information for up-to-date standings.

As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, Brighton & Hove Albion has never finished above Chelsea in the English league. Brighton has only recently gained promotion to the Premier League, and Chelsea has consistently been one of the top teams in the league, often finishing in the top positions. However, it's worth noting that league standings can change in subsequent seasons, and it's always a good idea to verify the most recent information for up-to-date standings.

Not sure who this Al bloke is but we didn't get to the 1st division until May 79. 77/78 Spurs were promoted.
