Sitting on a beanbag at Virgin Records by the Clock Tower and listening to new records such as 'Hot Rats' by Zappa and Lou Reed's first solo album.

Having a stereo (Quad), and a guitar amp (WEM Power Bass) with valves, that would cost both arms and legs to buy now!

Being able to see bands so close up that I had to watch that they didn't drop sweat on me or step on my fingers - then maybe meet and chat with them afterwards.

Skating at the Top Rank ice rink.

Walking around the end of the West Pier to see if the fishermen were catching anything, and watching the bloke in a cape diving into a ring of fire he made on the sea's surface, and perhaps getting the speedboat that went round the ends of both piers (but you got soaked)

The Lanes was not as "nice" as it is now. It had "The Old Vic" with tinted windows and old punks at the bar. I think I was at what ended up being the last ever gig there.. Bad Manners and The Hot Knives

I saw Spandau Ballet at the Brighton Centre - cant remember how much I paid though!!!
The Pav Tav I forgot that too!!!!
My memories seem to involve a lot of nightclubs and pubs - whoops signs of a mis spent youth - (nothing really has changed)

Funny how the design was heavily influenced by the the old Viaduct & i believe the clock(not in sight on either picture) from the old building in the top picture,is now on the front of Sainsburys

Skateboards with Gull wing trucks and alligator wheels.

Having to pay to get on the Palace pier.

The West pier, boring maybe, but it was there.

Fag and milk vending machines outside shops.

Silk Albion scarves hanging from your wrists thinking you were well 'ard.

Dunlop green flash.

The glass animal man.

Dogs roaming freely around the streets.

Chatting up 15 year old girls without being arrested.
