Councillor Bodfish replied

"Brighton and Hove City Council is proud to support both Pride and the Albion and I am sure that many who took part in the parade also attend matches at Withdean"

ARGUS LETTERS 28th August 2003

Really? Hands up all those who took part in the parade

Were there any chants of "does your boyfriend know you're here" at Gay Pride:?

Personally I don't see anything amazing about Bodfish's statement Dave. You're just playing into the hands of the small-minded homophobes on this board. :nono:

I know one gay albion fan, not sure if he was marching at pride or not. He keeps a low profile but assures me there are other gay men at Albion games and has met plenty of gay followers of other clubs after matches.

Not at all guys.

I was just mentioning the fact that Councillor Bodfish made the remark in a letter to a guy who had slated the council for spending shed loads of money on the Albion when they were looking to cut the grant to Pride. Bodfish is very keen to tell anyone in the nearest vacinity that the land to be given to the Albion is worth millions as development ground and the Albion are getting it for nix.

If people have homophobic views then that is their problem!

I was just interested to see if anyone actuallt took part as opposed to went along to watch.

I think the Gay Pride March was a great spectacle a few years ago until the Drama Queens decided it would be good to act as outragously as they could get away with and drag it into the gutter. A case of a very good thing being ruined by the twattish minority
