When are the league going to resolve this Hartlepool issue?

Let me guess.

They are waiting until 'Pool' are safe and then they will take action.

Cynical, I know, but it beggars the question why they didn't act straightaway.

I think you're spot on. They're waiting for Hartlepool to be mathetically safe, even with the inevitable 3 point deduction they're going to give them. I would imagine it'll just be 3 points and a fine, providing they can get themselves clear of the relegation zone. If they don't, then the FA will have to rethink the master plan. But that is how it seems to me, it's just a case of hoping Hartlepool do them a favour. And they probably are safe now, even with the 3 point deduction. Tranmere or Exeter for the final relegation spot (hoping it'll be Tranmere!!!).

Why 3 weeks to respond it is usual for players and teams to have 14 days from the date of the original letter including postage times. This in effect is 2 days to get to you and then be returned and 10 days for you to seek advice or decide what to do. A commission is then set within 7 days of the 14th day.

I believe that they have been given until 26 April to respond to the charge.

Correct, or was the hearing set for 26th?

Disgraceful anyway.

Cynical? You have every right to be. A decision was made recently over the Chester City expulsion from the Conference. They decided to expunge their results three quarters of the way through the season! Wonderful for the Luton Towns who had only gained 2 points but not good for those who had gained more. No body at the FA thought about yellow/red cards that had already counted & suspensions served, win bonus paid etc. The fairest way, and many clubs appealed for, was for all unplayed games to be awarded a 1 - 0 win. This was rejected on the technicality of being too later to appeal! trying to fix it for some clubs? Didn't work & today after being denied automatic promotion 14 seasons ago SBFC finally make Division 2.

Can't believe the ref let them get away with it, Surely things like this should be checked before the game, An absolute disgrace! 3 points deduction and a heavy fine at the very least, But i will be pissed off if we aint given the 3 points aswell cos they blatently cheated and knew what they were doing, Cheating Northern monkeys!

We should be given the 3 points and the game recorded as a 3-0 win to us , Hartlepool should have an additional 3 points taken off for breaking the rules , in effect losing 6 points.

I don't understand why there aren't standard punishments defined in the rule-book, to cover infringements like this. They can't make it up as they go along!

The football league paper gave 2 examples in the confrerence recently ( as late as last week) where players were not meant to have played. The clubs at fault lost 3 points for every game the player played in...But the other teams involved did NOT get the points given to them, and the games were not replayed either.

Funny now that Gillingham manager now has joined in on our case and wants Hpool to lose the points...

Delighted for you guys....first ever season in the league!

Live in North London so might pop up from here to have a nose at some point.

Met some Brighton / Stevenage fans at The King and Queen after one of the stadium protest marches a few years ago.....a nice bunch of fellas.

I wish you all the best....you'll consolidate (at least) no problem!

Re: 'Pools....they should have 3 points deducted immediately, given a nominal fine and a 3-0 win with associated points awarded to us immediately.

It's not about us but the principle of the matter and the need for a deterrent.

The fact these rules and not set in stone, clear as a bell and unavoidable is a farce!
