One day before their return to the League!

Wright leaves Chester

Wright had been in charge of Chester for two-and-a-half years
Manager Mark Wright has left League Two newcomers Chester City after two-and-a-half years in charge - just a day before the start of the new season.

The former England international defender confirmed his departure, but would not make any further comment.

Wright, who has also managed Oxford, took over at City in January 2002 and led them to promotion from the Conference last season.

Assistant manager Dave Moss is also thought to have left the Deva Stadium.

The ex-Macclesfield boss only took over as Wright's assistant at the end of May.

Chester begin their League Two campaign at Notts County on Saturday.

Weird, they ahve a quality team up there, should get promotion. That is well strange. Only last night I was watching him talking about their chances on John Barnes football night, he seemed confident but now I think about it a little subdued.

Have they been offered a job somewhere else?

According to a source of mine who has been in contact with MW this morning:

"Just spoke to the big guy. MW was sacked on Wednesday because he refused to play SV's son. Also Phil Bolland hasn't been registered and can't play tomorrow. Steve Vaughan himself will probably pick the team tomorrow".

I'm not sure if that was to be posted or not but I figure that the fans are owed some kind of explanation.

I'm not saying that is gospel but this source is usually reliable, and I don't want any cockheads telling me to reveal who my source is either because I won't be divulging that information.
