Looks are important - though what is considered beautiful varies between people. What's more important IMHO is that they have to be mentally/intellectually stimulating. I'm not saying that i'm a genius (i'm a long way from it) but my wife and I are both reasonably intelligent. Hopefully it will be a long time before we die. Looks will certainly fade but hopefully our minds won't.

...fair comment NR, I think it is well known that the physical side of a relationship wanes after a few years, there must be nothing worse than being stuck with someone who is thick and cannot string an intelligent conversation together, regardless of any physical attraction that might have existed at the start.

totally agree. was with a guy who totally bored me and i had to finish it after two weeks. being able to share experiences is really important, if they are not at your level it makes things very difficult.
