Everyone seems to assume that they are going to be here next season. Does Mc Ghee want them and are they fully recovered from what sounded like career threatening injuries?

Have they even been offered deals yet?

I have my reservations on wether either of them will be able to come back from those injuries as Div 1 standard players.

Hope they prove me wrong, but the last thing we need is to be lumbered with dead wood for the sake of it.

Rodger will be fine, Blackwell im a bit more unsure about, but if he looks sharp enough pre-season we should sign him.
Far better than Butters.

rodger is an outstanding player and the reason we went down hill after about 1/4 of the season was because he got injuried

I think age also comes into it ... Rodger is just 32 while Blackwell is 35 .... reckon Blackwell could well hang up his boots

They have both been given short term contracts in order to prove their fitness. We should know more early August.

That's not what rogerscuz seems to think?

The deal is on the provisio of fitness being proved.

Interesting that McGhee has gone on record (yesterdays Argus) saying he wants another Central defender. That would indicate to me that Blackwell's chances can't be brilliant.

McGhee has said he wants a striker, a winger, a left footed midfielder and a central defender.

Mrs Rodger (aka bird off QVC shopping channel) let out Simon's little grooming secret on last nights Aveda half hour.

Aparently as he has Catwalk hair (whatever that is) he uses Aveda Control Gunk £24.99 in 10 easy payments

as to why I was watching QVC on a Thursday evening - god only knows.

 off to Lisbon now

Jones didn't exactly set div 1 alight last time round, when he played that is, did he?... Brooker a much better player IMHO... wish he would come back...

I spoke to Blackwell at Cardiff and he is back in training but occasionally his knee is swelling and he is having to go back to light training.

He is hoping it will settle down over the summer as he is keen to get back in the squad.

Simon was on crutches for the Albion game at Cardiff becuase of a recent operation on his knee which would see him able to play next season, without it he would not have been back, but he says he will be back june/july fit and ready to go!:clap2:

I thought he did his knee in at Middlesbrough which was Sept 24th.

My husband had cruciate knee ligament damage and was only on crutches for six weeks.

Why is he still on crutches 9 months later or has he had further operations?
