what image editing packages would you nreccomend?

what would you reccomend to edit and m anipulate images, and make it look proffessional, also i may in the future want to do animations, please help

Alternatively, there's PaintShop Pro (free trial available).

Neither have a spellchecker though.

I use Jasc Paint Shop Pro for my images, but Adobe Photoshop is highly recommended but much more expensive

MRRF - Paint Shop Pro 7. Its absolutly amazing, you also get a gif animater in there aswell.

just bought paint shop pro 8 and tutorial after reviewing photoshop, paint shop pro and a few others, i think its the best value, and looks the easiest to use

i use photoshop 7 and find it to be excellent for anything i have ever needed it for.
