What has happened to Gary Hart?

Is he still injured?

Rarely takes anyone one?

First touch is worse than ever?

Doesn't look interested?

Doesn't even get booked anymore?

Doesn't seem to have the energy that used to make up for his lack of basic skills...

:(

Not having a good time - maybe he should be dropped to stop complacency ?

agree hes not on top form , but very few albion players are !

I thought he played quite well last night - sorry!:(

Although I did notice he put crosses into the box that would have been in the area Bobby used to vacate. The same goes for Jonesy.

I thought the worst tihng about las tnight was Pethick, his passes were woeful.

Hart and Jones both played ok in stages, they both seem to fad ein and out of the game for periods, where as last season Gary wa sin the game for most of the time.

took too long and too many touches to get his crosses in last night, and when he did they sailed over everyones head.
Hopefully McGhee will sort him out.

I totally agree Nwanko.
OGH's recent malaise has been one of the most worrying aspects of our slump lately. He could never be accused of not putting the effort in previously, but recently he just seems to be going through the motions. You could usually rely on him to get past a Div 2 fullback at least a couple of times during a match and whip in a dangerous cross, but its just not been happening for a while now.
I seem to remember a couple of games maybe just before this poor run started, where OHG was regularly in acres (and I mean ACRES) of space down the right, but nobody bothered passing to him...instead it kept being played out left or down the middle and fizzling out, when a simple ball to OGH would have been the obvious and more beneficial choice.
Has he just thought "ahh, stuff it then" ? Surely not. Hopefully McGhee can shake him out of it and give us back the Hart we all know and love.

At the foot of the downs
2nd half last night we moved down to B block coz thats where we thought all the action may be :jester: , so we were right on top of Hart, he doesn't look like Hart of 2-3 seasons ago, but his crossing last night was tip top at times, great outswinging crosses that were only just cleared, and his ability to make that little bit of room to get the cross in when faced by a defender is still right up there IMHO.

He hasn't really looked his old self since he broke his leg. Maybe it's had a lasting effect on him, either psychologically or physically. I hope that this isnlt the case and that he snaps out of it soon.

Harty should be given a run at rightback. He looked really comfortable there against Reading last season - he would be much better than Watson - he can tackle too.

Admittedly I haven't seen him since the Grimsby game - but he spent all match in acres of space down the right while the rest of them tried to make three-yard passes in the centre of midfield. When anyone did have the vision to get the ball out right he generally got to the byline and sent in a decent cross (which nobody else looked likely to do for a second).

Didn't go last night, but just a shame his crossing wasn't "Tip top" against Poro because we would have scored a winner if he had managed to get into the box, rather than the roof of the terrace stand, three of his late crosse when he was in acres of space and we were pushing forward at 2-2

However, apart from this I will always defend Hart, as he always gives his all for BHA, never stops trying/working

Yes but trying/working isn't the point is it? I'm sure all the players " try." The point is Hart is one of those who's capable of playing at a higher level: Ipswich away last season anyone? He was superb. But there's no denying, like other players, he's been very poor this season. All those aspects of his game which made him a decent player he's just not doing anymore. ... he's relunctant to take players on, his crossing has been below par, passing woeful and all round game off the pace.

I wouldn't play him at the back either ... he's not a defender and tends to lunge in too much.

Hate to say it but it may be time to drop him because at the moment I fail to see what he's contributing to the team.

Hart has definitely gone off the boil. Agree that the whole team has, but Hart is one of the poorest at present.

Others just not performing to the best of their ability include:
Mayo (woeful - so much better last year)
Carpenter
Jones
Hinshelwood

This lot can play so much better. MM needs to build their confidence. He has started with shooting, he needs to move on to control, one touch passing, passing to feet, and get Hart used to taking the man on again. Mayo and Hinsh especially need to understand that they have a role in attacking play and not just hoof. Mayo does it sometimes, but often forgets.

Has he been going out with Helen Chamberlain, a la Jonesy? I'm sure he will regain his form if McGhee can strengthen the side soon.

it would help if he got the ball more than once every half an hour. All he seems to do these days is stand in acres of space on the right wing waving his hands in the air whilst Jones and penthck lose possession

Don't you mean "the space Bobby used to occupy" ?

You might be having a mental evacuation there sister ! (don't forget to flush ;>)

Or maybe its a very oblique way of having a go at Harty's crosses being two foot behind Bobby? In which case they would be into the spaces he vacated?

or not maybe :lolol:
