One of my current favourite bands;
The latest in a line of great acts including Future of the Left & the previously featured McClusky... (Although I think the singer is English, but they're based here in Cardiff)
Still love the Super Furries, of course. Never bettered!

Can't believe the mighty Joanna Gruesome didn't get a shout out. Originally from Wales, but many of the band moved to Brighton.
Winners of The Welsh Music Prize 2013/14 with their cracking debut LP 'Weird Sister' when they were up against folk like the Manics, Cate Le Bon, Euros Childs, Gruff Rhys and so on. They were always a cracking live band too.

"Sassafras were a rock band from South Wales first formed in 1970. They played a mix of rock and roll, progressive rock and country rock with the emphasis on vocal harmony. The use of twin guitar solos was a distinctive feature of their music. The band holds the UK record for the group performing the greatest number of live gigs in a year."
The twin lead guitar sound was also a feature of Wishbone Ash, of course.
I have 'expecting company' on vinyl. It's a terrible press. Disappointingly on ebay you can buy the vinyl second hand for £11.00 to £55.00.
Pleased to see my two original High Tide vinyls are going for a minimum of £125 each

Yeah I remember Sassafras, my brother had an album (or more, can't recall). I used to sneak into his room when he went out, play his records and read his porn mags / MAD magazines ...... for years I thought an LSD trip was a package holiday in old money
