Concerning the fact we have bought in NO new players for the game tomorrow? Do you think we can get anything from it?

Do you think we will succeed in getting those 'four or five' players by the end of August?

My own opinion is no, I think we'll bring in two new players by the end of the month, Lua Lua on a season long loan and Camacho to cover Navarro, we will bring in no new striker, we were supposed to be closing in on two this week and have obviously failed.

Not losing faith in Gus whatsoever, just disappointed that just like previous seasons, nobody seems interested in coming to us (especially strikers).

Anyway, I shall be there tomorrow to hopefully break my losing streak, the last game I saw us win was Rotherham away 1-0, the last game of the season some years ago :p

I think we will 2-1 tomorrow, but I have now completely given up on us getting a new striker.

We must have missed out on 11 or 12 targets by now, and its clear that there must be a stumbling block to us getting one (wages presumably).

Any decent striker will be established at a club now for at least the rest of the season.

Our first eleven is good enough to beat anyone, but without Murray we are toothless, and as such we have nowhere near enough depth to make the play offs.

Perhaps the Chairman shouldn't have said he expects automatic promotion.....

Given the fact that we spent a lot of money on Dickenson and Holroyd hasn't shown much any promise there's a lot to be said for being careful about rushing to buy players.

Not sure we can get a result with the midfield that started against Rochdale. Didn't think it looked brilliant and that was against a side expected to struggle.

Hoping for a draw up there but possibly will highlight how short we are,
On the flip side if we win with a weakened side then it bodes very well.

Draw would be good.

Are you writing this in the future?

I thought the midfield look very tidy and dominated until the sending off.

The midfield was great against Rochdale... the only reasons we didn't win were 2 mad moments by our captain then goalie...

I think we could get a result out of this. Some Sheffield fans aren't all that confident so hopefully we can come away with all 3 points.

I don't really understand what you're saying?

The second sentence was an opinion of mine, and the first sentence, you posted after 12pm, we needed our player to be registered half an hour before your post to play tomorrow, so maybe I was just using common sense? :glare:

Now we can bitch all we like about not having sigend any players, I just thought you were jumping the gun a bit.

Is it an opinion? I think you were more stating your thoughts or beliefs, which turned out rather frustratingly to be correct. But that's not opinion is it?

Either way, it is a bit of a concern, after all the rhetoric from Gus and the club about the need to bring in new players, and yet there has been nothing done in time for Saturday. My opinion, having seen the reserves on Wednesday, is that this Camacho fellow isn’t good enough, he didn’t really impress enough in the game, he didn’t look to me like he was fighting for a contract. Gus and Taricco left the ground 5 minutes before the final whistle, so one assumes they had nothing to say to him post match, which I think is quite telling. Perhaps, after all the dust has settled, Gus has run out of contacts, the scouts are scraping around and coming up with little, who knows, maybe even the chairman has said no to some expensive buys, leaving Gus and the scouts no option but to scratch around.

no new players then

It's getting worrying. So many promises on the playing front and bugger all action of any worth in the striker department. I despair. What do we do if Murray is injured once the transfer window shuts?
