We won't get in play offs all the time we sit so deep in second half of games ,

Why do we sit so deep and let teams back in the game ? With Upson experience I thought he would have pushed us up a bit more , we seem to do it every home game in the second half . It creates to much space in midfield for the opposition to play .

I can't believe this hasn't been ironed out on the training pitch and it will cost us the play offs.....

We don't.

We beat a team, third in the league, with the best away record in the division.

If anything Hull sat too high and our biggest mistake was not putting on pace sooner and punishing them for the amount of room they left to run into.

Have to agree with OP. every home game we sit back and invite pressure. Lost count of the amount of times I've screamed. Get up!!!!!!! It makes the whole crowd tense as well. Bolton punished us for it. And we made a game against Derby very tense , that should have been wrapped up long before that. We dominate possession all game and then the last 20 minutes can't string two passes together.

Nope. Bolton punished us because we were sloppy in possession and gifted them the ball. Avoid that and were sorted. Playing high up is mad unless we have the pace: we don't.

We won yes , but don't disillusion yourself we deserved to based on the second half , Thomas made 3 top drawer saves to get us the 3 points and the reason is we sit to deep in second half of games and invite teams on, Bridcutt basically plays centre half and leaves too much room in front of back 4 for opposition to play , I'm not blaming Bridders but with Upson , Bridge and Greer we have enough experience to sort this .we are also to slow to get out when we clear our lines which invites teams on and leaves a large hole in midfield for opposition to play in.

Are you serious?

You seriously don't know why pushing up when you have a defence that lacks pace is a bad idea?

Tony Adams , Martin Keown , Lee Dixon and Winterburn ! They never sat deep , certainly were not quick but were best back four I've ever seen.....

Wrong Wrong Wrong , Bolton should have been out of site , but we sat back and gave them possession and invited them on which caused us to be sloppy

Exactly what I was going to say

Well your wrong as well. There is a difference between sitting too deep and playing a sensible line , in the second half of games we are 10 yards too deep and we don't push out quickly enough

Anyone who disagrees with you is wrong wrong wrong. Fwiw I agree with Biscuit, we haven't got defenders with pace.

Someone will always find something to moan about IMO

I'm not moaning at all , I'm absolutely over the moon at what Brighton have achieved and the way we are playing , but this is a simple thing and very frustrating when we are dominating matches and the last 20 minutes we give the opposition the initiative to undo all our great play

i agree with the case of Derby. We were by far the better team and we have the quality to win these games, we should not need sloppy goals or luck to win games like many teams do. Derby was tense but for no reason other than we were leading, we need courage and confidence that is arguably hard when it is make or break point in the season. Whether it is pushing up more or some other change needed, we do need to attack more at the end of games we are winning otherwise we invite pressure and present opportunities for them to score. It may be a cynical thread in some people's eyes but were you not at the Derby match watching them get a goal back and thinking wait a second weren't we dominating this match? after Orlandi missed that chance to put it 3 - 0 it is almost like we thought 'it's going to be one of those days again', and didn't attack after that.

Why are you bringing this up after yesterday's game how can you say we sat deep when we put on Buckley & Vicente to try to win the game which we did in the 83rd minute I agree in previous games we've sat too deep and let sides attack us but not yesterday , we won against a side in the top 6 they were bound to pile on some pressure in the last 10 mins after being a goal down but yesterday we saw the game out defending well & running the clock down

At this level, you are always going to come under pressure in the last 20 if you have a fragile lead. It doesn't just happen to us. It's more of a case of teams upping their game and taking it to us. We have to sit back as we don't have the pace. A better question to ask would be why did we not bring on a player with pace against Hull and try to exploit their ridiculously high line. That was way more of a worry to me than the fact that defensively we play to our strengths!

Our defenders play to their strengths. If anything you should be questioning why going forward we can't kill games off. If we did that the last 20 would be a lot less scary.
