We Are Staying Up

............. I think.

what happens if teams are on level points? If it's down to most wins, we're safe.

With Worcs holding on for a draw against Lancs and Lancs facing Gloucs in their last game I reckon we need 1 point against Surrey to guarantee finishing with more points than Lancs.

If Lancs win with maximum bonus points they could finish level on points with us, Gloucs would need six bonus points to finish above us. (If we somehow manage to get no points against Surrey)

It's looking highly likely that pre season bookies favourites Lancs will be joining Northants and Worcs in Div 2 next season.

38.1.8 The side which has the highest aggregate of points gained at the end of the season shall be the Champion County of their respective Division. Should any sides in the Championship table be equal on points, the following tie-breakers will be applied in the order stated: MOST WINS, least losses, team achieving most points in contests between teams level on points, most wickets taken, most runs scored. At the end of the season, the top three teams from the Second Division will be promoted and the bottom three teams from the First Division will be relegated.

Done well considering the start to the season.
Too many players had indifferent seasons - as Scotty says big challenge for the championship next year.

I am a happy man. Now to finish the season off with a win against Surrey. Then I can really concentrate on the Albion. Why can't we have a cricket season and a football season with no overlap? :)

So Hants are back up to the 1st Division are they?

As I left Hampshire earlier this year everyone was gloom mongering about another season in the lower eschelons. I'm pleased the Rose Bowlers have made it back to the top flight to challenge the serious sides like Sussex
