At the foot of the downs
Its very exciting isn't it, we have the makings of a great striker to partner Owen for a long time to come !!

He was everywhere last night and always wanted the ball. Superb talent.

Meopham, Kent.
He looks very promising, but I'm careful not to go over the top. Lets not forget the (lack of) quality of opposition.

and whats so good in comparrison with Paul G is that Rooney doesnt have the big head his comparrison had and still has. Suddeenly Englands prospects looking a little better, bring on the Turks!

Fantastic performance you keep forgetting how old he is, he is a natural. Only his second start and he already looks like he has been playing in that squad for years!!! Amazing talent which has to be nurtured I would hate for him to be burnt out by the time he is 20.

Hey Brighton Rock, I bet you didn't know that Wayne Rooney is the youngest person ever to score for England!

He impressed me so much last night just behind the front two.

Its so refreshin to have a player willing to get back and scrap for the ball as well as being suprememly talented in front of goal.

The most exciting prospect since Gascoigne, absolutely no question.

Agree with all of the above, but look forward to him scoring international goals against decent opposition.

You wonder how Sven sees his role in the team and, in particular, whether it's Rooney AND Scholes or Rooney FOR Scholes...
