The ammount of vocal support that they gave their team was like a 12th man.

The problem with us is that 1. We are desperately short of decent songs 2. We DO only sing when we are winning and 3. It's only really the Rookery that gets going anyhow.

We need to bring a bit of our 'away' atmosphere back to the Vic - last season we prooved that we can be supportive when we need to but we need to be doing it every week !!!

i was in the rookery and it seems decent enough from there and the brighton fans barely sang when they were losing. qpr were the best fans by far at the vic

Our support was bad. We need to get behind the boys.

Supposedly we give our team tonnes of support when we're away as well though. It seems to be an at home thing...

Not a lot to sing about though was there.

how about,....No idea, not a care, just boot it in the air...Watford, Watford

I didn't hear Brighton's fans sing much, but then again I don't usually hear much of what the away fans sing from my position at the Vic. I assumed that we silenced them with our gay chants!

Re: Brighton Supporters

brighton fans were silent when they were losing but from the rookery they always seem quiter

LIKE THERE CHANT SAID "WORST SUPPORT THERE HAVE EVER SEEN" COME ON WATFORD FANS SING YOUR HEARTS OUT IT SOUNDS LIKE A ALUN JONES APPERCIATION SOCIETY WHEN WE SING ONLY A FEW SCHOOL BOYS ARE SINGING.

But it is always the back row of the rookery that starts singing. There is about 10 guys that include me and the rest around me that start singing, and if we aint winning after 20 minutes, no one else wants to no. It has been a long standing problem and not one i can see being resolved any time soon.

its obviously the stadium which is at fault at some grounds even a small number of people singing sounds really loud. but at our ground the away fans think there loud when quite frankly you cnat hear either end sing. i blame the ground

Re: Brighton Supporters
ayianni1 @ 11-SEP-04 10:05 PM
i agree but qpr fans were extremely loud even when 3 down

Hmmmm, typical GAY comment coming from one of the more intelligent supporters there I take it.

I am Albion through and through and was at todays game, and It was a great atmosphere In our end. And as for that comment about we were quiet when we were losing...well actually about two seconds after the goal went in, the whole stand started singing again at full throttle. Any chance you guys did not hear us then because it was the only time you lot sang ??

The Vocal support the Albion gets is amazing and second to none. I was there remember and I can assure you the Albion Army sang the whole way through.

Yeah, you guys were quiet until you scored, I dont know why with the best part of 12,000 home supporters.

And for the fans ***ing us off about " well I did not hear them from where I was" two things:

1) We had only 2,200 tickets made available, how often does the far end of the ground really hear the few away supporters at the other end anyway.

2) We supported and clapped you when we found out you now own your ground as freehold. Thats football for you.

oh and another thing...you were at home, you should not have been able to hear us at all !!

One piece of friendly advice, when and if you visit the Albion at Brighton...dont expect the same atmosphere, we have a capacity of just under 7000 and have little or no roofs...the atmosphere *** big time...until we get Falmer anyway.

Anyway from one true fan to the all the True Watford fans...despite the **ap atmos at Withdean...please support us by coming....it all helps us survive....Freeeeehold.....Freeeeeehold.

Well done guys, despite being quiet, your still above us.

I have to admit, the Brighton fans were excellent and spurred there team on throughout the game.

Must admit though I'd hate to watch their hoofing tactics everyweek.

2 JAGS or whatever the fat *** politicians name is, give em their ground.

Fairly ironic for a club where Sir Elton John is their Honorary Life President.

Our fans and disgusting chants
blue_luna100 @ 12-SEP-04 12:38 AM
For god sake guys, we get the 'sing your hearts out for the ladS' and ' support your team' moaners coming out on this board after every home game.

The support against Cambridge (with only 6,000 fans)was great, the support against Plymouth was ok and after the pleas from fans on this board about singing etc, the support today was an improvement, far better than what we've had in the past.

Funny that all week we have had the 'im gonna get a drum' guys on this board, yet where was these supposed drummers then?. Ever heard the saying 'Walk the talk'

Credit to the brighton fans, they done really well, and coming from an ex Brighton Hornet (year 2000), the anti gay chants were disgusting, there was a father with his 5 or 6 year old daughter next to us, who was appauled at the suggestive remarks that watford fans were singing. Yes, Brighton has alot of gay men / woman living in the town, but so what, we can hardly talk having Elton here, can we!

And prehaps those from the back of the rookery in the middle guys could explain a chant that has cropped up over the last two games 'Do something... Do something', 'Do something'. Couldn't have been for the watford players as we had just scored, couldn't have been brighton has they were on the counter attack, couldn't have been the brighton fans as they were chanting for their team, so that just leaves the watford fans...Another p*ss take at our own fans again then?

Sorry to rant everyone, but i and lots of others sang our hearts out, my girfriend who came to her first watford match sang for a while, there were constant chants of Terry and Ray / Yellow army and the great escape from the majority of the rookery, so STOP laying into our fans and support your supporters. If the players read this board, they must think 'God, if our fans aren't together as a team, then what chance do we have'.

Cheers

John

Well maybe matey should take his daughter to the family stand. What does he expect to hear, it is notoriously a voiciforous stand and your not going to hear idle chat about Play days and what not.

someone mentioned qpr were louder- im guessing thats cos they filled the end stand?! (being from down the road!) and as for us 'being very quiet when we were loosing'!

if the watford fans up the other end couldnt hear us, the players definately did judging by their reaction at the end of the game!
