Watching former Brighton players last Saturday

I took my son, on his 11th birthday to see Oxford v Bristol Rovers.

The usual captain's appearance from Jake Wright for Oxford. No Andrew Whing for Oxford, not even on the bench so probably injured.

Joe Anyinsah up front for Rovers, but he looked to be carrying a bit too much weight for my liking and only threatened occasionally.

The interesting player warming up but on the bench was Adam Virgo...who can forget his diving headed goal against Swindon! He can't seem to make the first team and yet he is only 28 and loads of experience. The days of the £1.5m transfer to Celtic must to distant.

Oxford won 3-0

I've been really surprised with how crap Bristol Rovers have been this season. On the face of it, they brought in a good manager who signed a number of decent players for them over the summer. And don't they have a new stadium on the horizon too? Funny how things sometimes just don't work out.

I was going to take the trip to Oxford, instead went to Wycombe against Walsall to watch a less then exciting 1-1 draw in front of a 7k crowd... Another Ex-Albion player who seems to have drifted off is Tunnicliffe, having been dropped to the bench and making no appearance... He's only 22 years old as well...

That's because he's crap.

He wasn't crap when he was with us. Just inconsistent and not up to League 1 standard. Since leaving he has knocked quite a few goals for Shrewsbury and Torquay so surprised he hasn't nailed down a starting place in the Northampton team.

Not brave enough for league football is the simple answer I think. No doubting the ability.

Wes Fogden made his Bournemouth debut aswell. That seems to have been overlooked by many, he is at a league 1 club again. Nathan Elder played for Hereford on saturday aswell, and I'll be seeing Jack Compton (ok, so he was never really our player) playing in a few weeks for Bradford. The lower leagues are starting to become littered with our old boys. Didn't Cox score twice this weekend? Probably the best of the ex-Albion contingent in Leagues 1 and 2...

I wondered what had happened to Elder. Was with AFC Wimbledon and injured for quite a while. Hope he does well for Hereford. He always impressed me during his comparatively few starts for Brighton.

Cox got two the week before. Don't forget Loft at Vale, Fraser at Barnet and Savage is also at Northampton.
