The cross-hairs apearing "behind objects" can be explained by the fact that they are always on white backgrounds which apparently make thin black lines disapear.
I'm not too sure but just sit on the "they faked it" side of the fence.

Im not too sure either way. The explanations by NASA designed to discredit the hoax claims are feasible but at the same time there was a lot of pressure on the US to win the space race and make good on Kennedy's promise they would land on the moon before the end of the decade.

The main thing that sways me to the faked side of the fence is I cannot figure out why respected ex NASA workers would argue that they were faked.

what US Seagull said

At the end of the day, if they had been faked it the USSR would have proved it, after all it was at the height of the cold war

Oh for crying out LOUD.
There was WIRE in the flag to make it stand out from the pole. If the flag was hanging limply by the side, then how the hell would the aliens know that America owns the Moon ?

Jees.

It always worried me about the camera aspect/reflection in the helmet. It looked so nice, and works well as a set-up shot, but the question lays heavily about the close-in picture, and the far-away astronaut who is supposed to have taken it.
"objects in the mirror are closer than they seem" is one reasonable excuse, and the 'fish-eye' effect from the curvature of the helmet - but experts have had problems explaining this too.

Having said that, I also harbour misgivings about the purported cow that jumped over it.
I don't think cows can jump .

Anyway, why did the yanks boast that it was such a great leap for mankind when a cow had already done it years before them? Was it a Soviet cow and NASA were embarrassed?
Time for a new poll about whether the cow-jump was a fake, methinks. ???

yes people have been on the moon, but some of the photos do look a bit sketchy . . . .more worrying is the fact that everything was held together with cooking foil, gaffa tape and sticky backed plastic, very very blue Peter, and if the pilots wherent drugged to the nines, they must have been feckin crazy !

it would have been just as expensive to fake it as to actually doing it.

of course they did it.
