Can any statto's out there enlighten me.

Was Molongo's opener the fastest ever Albion goal? And,
how many Albion players have scored on their full League debut.

Cheers :clap2:

I am sure I will be corrected here but Wardy scored after 35 secs on his debut at Hereford.

Still a helluva good omen for Molango and us if he is half as good as Ward.

They were saying Ward's was 10 seconds on SCR but they have been wrong before :glare:

According to the 'Albion A-Z' by Tim Carder and Roger Harris, Peter Ward scored against Hereford with his first touch after 50 seconds. The game was apparently on 'Match of the Day' that evening.

I believe Tim Carder is regarded as Albion's foremost historian, and the A-Z book is excellent - one of the very best football history books of its kind (and I should know - I've got hundreds!). I should imagine the info about Ward's goal is spot on.

The book was published in 1997, and it contains a list of players who scored on their Albion debuts up to that point. There are 115 of them!

Danny Wilson scored twice on his Albion debut against Cardiff City in December 1983. Brighton won 3-1, with Ian Baird (another player who scored on his Albion debut) scoring our goal.

You mean like their report from Falmer and the interview with Mavis Saggytits?

 Cheers for that Laughing Bluebird!!

That's an amazing stat. 115 players scoring for Albion on their debuts. Well, make that at least 116 now!!:ascarf: :goal:
