Virgin Media Download warning

I had "The Letter" from Virgin today warning me that I had been clocked by the BPI illegally downloading 'an' MP3!

They didn't threaten to do anything, just informed me that it is illegal, I suppose it's just a 'watch it letter'.
Sad thing is the song I was caught downloading was "2 become 1" by the Spice Girls. Which I hasten to add wasn't even my doing, kids for you.

Anyone else had a cuff round the ear yet?

She was using Limewire.
I hate Limewire and have told her not to use it time and time again. Do they listen....NO they don't.

i know what you mean 20mb download speeds is really tiresome !!!

I'll settle for 16mb and no telling off letters.

Safe in the knowledge that if I want the full 20mb, I only need ask

I have told her that she will go to Prison for a very very long time and I won't let her use my internet when she gets out either. that'll learn her.

Funny that it didn't pick up my Torrents?*

(*Obviously that is just a jocular remark and I wouldn't dream of running a torrent program, in fact it is probably my neighbour ripping off my wireless- Mr/MRS BPI)

the reason why I asked was because I use torrents and haven't yet had a letter, though I don't allow uploading and delete the download when its downloaded ..

We were in the same position a few years back, got a call from BT saying we were illegally downloading songs and they mentioned a few. They said if we continued they would cut off our service.

Carried on downloading illegally, and they did DIDDLY SQUAT:thumbsup:

I thought with torrents you are sharing straight away once a peice of the download has completed. Do you stop any outgoing traffic on the port?

no your right I do this until its been downloaded then I get rid !!!!
