Maybe Beaky reckons getting relegated is the surefire way to make the yanks lose interest and sell up

Of course they had succession planning, they watched the budget and took note of the new returnership plan

A ‘returnership’ is a new offer which brings together three programmes to help get older workers back to work. These include Apprenticeships, Skills Bootcamps and Sector-Based Work Academy Programmes (SWAPs). ‘Returnerships’ will raise awareness of these pathways, providing a clear route back into work and encouraging employers to hire older workers.

For me, Vieira was on a bad run but given the games that were coming surely you would have seen an improvement. I highly doubt he would have relegated them. Their recent losses had all been pretty close games against good teams. Maybe you make a change if there’s someone very decent to come in, & maybe that’ll happen in the summer, but right now you’ve got to ask the question… are Palace better off in this relegation battle with Roy over Pat? & the answer for me is no. With this decision they’ve got from a team I would say is just about safe, to one that is very much a relegation candidate.

They are in a right mess, teams playing them right now will be targeting them as one of their easier fixtures. I also think they are guilty of over rating some of their players, Zaha is half the player he was and is still head and shoulders the stand out.

It must be quite galling seeing how well we’re progressing too, it’s not a good time to support palace.

Palace's owners are a laughing stock. They seem to be run by the goldfish brained reactionaries who phone 6:06 after a disappointing result. "We lost - HE'S GOT TO GO!', 'Get Roy back - He never lost any matches!' 'I remember when everything cost 2p and was made of wood!'*

It gets to the point where I actually start to feel sorry for their fans. If we'd been born up there, (whisper it) We'd have been supporting them. Imagine having to put up with this kind of short-termist lunacy.

* - Apologies to Viz.

As funny as it is they've gone back to the man whose departure the fans celebrated, we all know the footballing gods will let them still survive. They were gonna stay up with Vieira, they'll stay up with Hodgson (and the fans will love him, proclaim it was a master stroke by Parish etc).

Well I was born up there, within spitting distance of Selhurst - thankfully my parents understood the cruelty of it, and brought me to Sussex at an early age, before evil influences could take hold.

Given the average age of NSC users we really shouldn't be mocking an old geezer being forced out of retirement due to this cost of living crisis. I blame the tories for this debacle!
