In front of the PC
I have a USB memory stick that I use for taking work home etc. I normally back this up manually about once a month. Recently I got a little lapse at doing it and paid the price when it went wrong. I have managed to get most of the information of it, however I want to make sure that it does not happen again.

What I want is some software that will automatically back up the USB drive every time I insert it in to the PC. Ideally it will look at the folder on the PC and see if there is anything different on the USB drive that is not on the PC and just do it without me having to worry.

Can anyone recommend anything? Ideally it will be a freeware program though happy to pay for the right bit of software.

Dunno, but surely you should only be using the USB key as a secondary copy of any files - which is pretty much as you describe, not as a primary/sole source?

In which case, if your USB key goes wrong or you lose it, you'll still have a copy of the file(s) on one of your machines.
