I'd love to see Obama win, but share your fears. This is a country that still voted George Bush in for a second term after the cows arse he made of the first term. I just don't think some Americans are ready to vote for a black president either and will either abstain, or vote for the war hero, as a cop out.

I want Obama to win and he will. Whilst there are probably a lot of voters who will bottle it at the last minute I also think there are a lot of previously disenfranchised people who have not bothered to previously vote who will now aid getting him in.

people at work in our american offices reckon Obama definately has the "black issue", especially as he is like Hamilton, ie not an African American.People from the Atlanta and Denver ofice will not vote for Democrats per se, but its the white middle classes he needs.

I think it will be EXTREMELY close, because of the fact that everyone thinks that Obama is going to the win, and so some of his supporters will not think that their votes are necessary, whereas the McCain supporters will think the opposite, and so will turn out in numbers.

In what way "should" ?

Being Hillary would have been a better choice than Barrack but too late they made their choice so they have to live with it.

I'm still not sure I'm understanding why it should have been Hillary.

Also, why would she have been a better choice?

Better experience and would learn from her husband but it is all a matter of choice at the end of the day.

If it was a straight head-to-head across-the-country vote, that might be the case. But this election is about key states and no-one is assuming they are definitely won. If fewer people bother to turn out for Obama in New York or California, it might mean he wouldn't win the total popular vote but he would still win those states easily.

The state to watch is Virginia, where I believe the polls close first, at 7pm Eastern (midnight in the UK). If Obama wins that one, then he is almost guaranteed to win the election. If he loses, though, it is hardly the end of the world for him.

No way

Hillary = Palin

not really sure how you worked that out but never mind

Obama will not be as good as everyone makes out and will be coming into a world recession so will have a lot of work to do but compared to Sarah Palin being a heart attack away from being leader of the 'free world' he will have to do. Both Obama and McCain have some very dodgy policies

Little more than 3 days to go. All the polls suggest Obama will win. Yet somehow i dont think he will. :shrug:

I pray to (fictional) God that Obama survives long enough to win.

Also pray to (fictional) God that the shameful Republicans spending their last days in power killing women and children in Syria and Pakistan (just because they can) eat shit and die :salute:
