I thought he played very well for his debut, I would imagine he will be in the next squad on the back of tht performance, didnt put a foot wrong in my opinion.
I thought Dan had a good, solid game. In fact he fitted in so well you would have been excused for thinking it was his 10th cap - not his first. He was always covering their winger but also made himself available as an outlet for the other defenders - and he was used on several occasions. He showed good ability in the air, and made 4 or 5 good defensive headers.
He wasn't afraid to go forward either and played a couple of 'pass and go's' with the midfield. I was also impressed with his role in England's third goal. When he saw that there was a cross coming he deliberately went on a run across the penalty box and took one of their defenders out of the danger area. This led to Ashton having a much easier header and the goal came as a result.
