LEON Knight will shed no tears if he stirs up trouble for Chris Turner by helping Brighton to win at Hillsborough on Saturday.

The Seagulls and former Wednesday striker says that the Owls manager is to blame for the club's lack of success and if he pays with his job, then "that is just what happens in football".
But Turner hit back, saying: "It's an example of a player not doing the business for us on the field but then blaming the manager."
The Owls boss recently pointed out that Knight scored only three goals in 27 appearances for Wednesday last season while on loan from Chelsea. He also said that the striker's conduct on and off the training ground and on match days "left a lot to be desired."
Knight, who has hit 24 goals for Brighton, said: "If we beat Wednesday and he gets the sack, then that is just what happens in football.
"We're going there for three points, and whatever their board decide to do or whatever pressure he is under, it's his problem. He runs it the way he wants and it's not going well for him so he's got to take the blame. It's a simple as that."
But Turner has again hinted that if he told the full story behind Knight's behaviour while he was at Hillsborough then it would not look good on the player.
The Owls boss told the club AGM recently: "From the day I came here, Knight said he didn't like Sheffield Wednes-day; he felt let down by the previous manager Terry Yorath because he played him out of position and kept taking him off.
"After two weeks he still wanted to go back to Chelsea. As he was on a year's loan, he couldn't. I informed Leon of this, and from that day onwards he tried his utmost to get us to send him back, through every sort of way you can think of.
"His discipline on and off the training ground and on match days left a lot to be desired. To go any further than that would be unprofessional of me.
"He went back to Chelsea because he was under contract to them. It's not as if he was our player to let go to Brighton."
Knight subsequently joined Brighton on loan and signed for them in a £100,000 deal.

Surely our little Leon wouldn't be capable of that sort of behaviour would he? He always looks so committed and doesn;t in any way have an inflated opinion of his own ability.

I don't like this. We had a similar piece in the paper just before we played QPR and all they had to do was pin it up on the dressing room wall. There was no further need to motivate the players.

I hope this isn't another shot into our own feet. Why can't Knight just keep his mouth shut until after the game?

Knight does seem to be one of those little bastards that gets under your feet, i.e. they think being small means they can get away with anything 'cos no ones gonna fight 'em (abit like me when I'm drunk! ).
I hope he has or soon will become more mature and just concentrate on football rather than throwing his toys out the pram. Either way as long as he keeps playing well and banging in the goals we need'nt worry.

Interesting stuff. Maybe Turner should have tried a different approach with Leon, but if a player wants out it soon becomes obvious and best to let them go. Much like BZ at the end of last season.
