"On 11 October 2012, Truro City's administrators failed to meet the deadline for the Football Conference's requirement of a £50,000 bond that would enable the club to continue in the Conference South. A reduced amount was offered by the club, and was refused by the Conference. The match at home to Dover Athletic on 13 October was called off, and the club was expected to be expelled from the league with liquidation probably following such an expulsion.[26] However, on 12 October the Conference gave the club another week to pay the bond, in the light of "encouraging" information from the administrator. Membership of the Conference will be reviewed again on 18 October if the bond is not paid.

Anything that any one can do will be much appreciated :

Save Truro City - Home

Wasn't this the club that had a massive financial input and was going to be the team of the future with league football in mind ? Might be wrong but it did remind me as soon as i saw the thread. Probably another money man promising everything but only had his financial gain in mind.

Feature yesterday on Non-league Football Show. Doesn't sound as if there's much hope for either Truro or Kettering - both have a few days to turn things round. If you've never heard the show it's well worth listening to - mind you, it is at 530am on Five Live on Sundays but you can always get the Podcast!

Around 2005, there was a big project to move Truro into a new 16,000 stadium with Cornish Pirates rugby club. When that hit the skids owing to the recession and NIMBY protests, I guess the owners lost interest in the project.

The then owner made noises about taking over Plymouth last year as I recall and was spoken of as being an even less reliable character than Risdale.

Truro have had some money pumped in but certainly not massive amount. Biggest signing was Derick Hayles (aged 39)

It will be a great shame for the County if Truro City fold but sadly I think it will happen. I know some of the players and they have shown incredible loyalty to the club and still turn out even though they haven't been paid for the last 3months! Previous chairman was declared bankrupt in the Summer and Cornwall County Council offered to put up bond of £10,000, but Conference turned it down. We are all keeping our fingers crossed that somebody will invest but sadly Cornwall is one of the poorest Counties in the Country and after the worst summer in years tourism has suffered badly (our main Industry) so even less money to go around/invest.

Wasn't Heaney declared bankrupt recently ???

I'm still getting over them mugging Whitehawk in the Vase 1/4 final in '07

Blatant 81st. minute handball goal to win it 1-0

One of their players even said it was handball, and that they showered and got on the coach and away ASAP

It was funny to hear some of their fans giving it some ill-advised homophobic chanting, and some local lads edging towards them in the covered stand, and their previously cock-a-hoop demeanour evaporating

I was at that game as a mate was playing centre back for Hawks. Little scuffle broke out if I remember rightly, which everyone got very excited about.

I was there too

The chant of, 'He's big, he's queer, he takes it up the rear, No.9...' from the Truro fans wasn't the best idea in the world :lolol:

I believe Yetton was touted as a £1 million striker at one point, but is still there...

Beat AFC Totton in the final of the Vase 3-1 in '07, in front of a record crowd of 27 754

Shame about Truro as they were hoping to be first club from Cornwall in the League. Also sad for Kettering. They got so close to League status so many times and now also in trouble.

We can only thank our lucky stars that we never went the same way!!!

Considering there are not many clubs int he region it would have potential with a larger catchment area.

Pity as the nearest big club is Plymouth and Exeter.
