I find the easiest way is to just get it straight from my laptop wirelessly - you can link the two and then stream or rip stuff from your computer

you watch the film on the ps3 from the usb no need to copy it over. but, yes you can copyit fromusb

or you can wirelessly copy it from your pc to ps3 if you have a media server. i use tversity as WMP wasnt up to it really

You can, I've got loads of films on my PS3, it will depend on what format your storage device is set up for I think? Best bet is to google it!

use tversity

and i would transfer them over to your ps3 rather than stream them as in the evening your internet connection could slow down and the film with stop and pause . so just copy it over using tversity then watch it from hard drive on ps3

It's real easy. Drag and drop the .avi file on your computer to your memory stick. Then put the stick in your playstation, select movies and scroll down to your usb device then hit triangle and select ' display all'. You'll see the file which you can then either play or copy across.

There's no need to fanny about trying to stream things from your computer. It's a lot of hassle and doesn't work very well

I tred downloading wmp, bt it says i have to pay for it so im not gonna get it.
On my old pc i use turned sharing on through WMP, then streamed the movies.
But if this TVERSITY does the same job as WMP i guess it wont be a problem to stream them again?
Will i have to turn sharing on through tversity so it can connect to my ps3?
Is tversity just a similar program to wmp?

Seriously though, save yourself the ballache and just do the simple drag and drop to your USB stick. I've tried all kinds of methods to stream from my computers to the PS3 and none of them work well enough. Trying to wirelessly stream high definition movies is just too big an ask and you're far better off just sticking to good old reliable USB sticks. It only takes a few minutes to transfer across your movie file and then it plays straight off the stick once it's plugged into the PS3.

Why overcomplicate it?

not tried it yet but will later, my advice would be just buy a external drive and hack ps3 ( only if your on 3.55 firmware or below and do not use ps store / love film etc and do not play online gaming ) and put showtime on

Mine doesn't show when I'm on the USB bit of movies, I have to press O or triangle and select information I think, it should show then? If not it's because it's in the wrong format? I have an ext. HD that I copy films to and then put them straight on my PS3 from that, it's really quick and easy!

instead of streaming it to your ps3 with tversity copy it to your hard drive then youll get much better quslity. only takes 5 minutes
