Non-advance train tickets, what a load of f*cking w*nk.
Anyone know of any train networks that are offering special deals at the moment, need to get to Leeds next thursday. To be honest im usually good with all this, and get away games booked up early, but this wasnt possible. Looking at about £90 cheapest at the moment.
Thats all, cheers.

young persons rail card? You are travelling on a peak train so its to be expected, what about the night before and a hotel ?

Looking at that now, thanks, but is still about £65 odd and £24 for the card which i dont have the money for to be honest. Its for an open day, and couldnt book it early as it was only worth me going dependant on results (couldnt afford to pay £30 or so then get 4 U's).
Ahh well, i'll have to give it a miss.

We don't you get the night coach and arrive early in the morning. You can kip on the coach and save the cost of the hotel - I can see there's one that arrives at 5.30 in the morning so it's perfect timing for you.

I did this coming back from a rugby match in Cardiff a few months ago and it's a pretty comfortable journey.

Edit: Just thought, there's a swimming pool not far from the coach station in Leeds so you could go and have a swim and a shower (or just the shower) to freshen up after your journey. A stomping Yorkshire breakfast and you'll be ready for anything (and the whole lot will probably cost you about £30)

I might be way off the mark, but can you apply to the government for money to allow you to go to these open days?

On national express site - I only looked at coaches from London and that was £8.50 single, I'm sure if you looked you'd be able to find something (might have to combine it with Megabus to London for cheapest deal).

The trains from Brighton to London are normally pretty cheap, especially late at night.
