You can always find somewhere cheap to eat in France. Toulouse is also home to the cassoulet (well, one of it's homes) so you can deffo get some of the good stuff.

With the current state of the pound against the Euro... nowhere in Europe is cheap :nono:

However, Toulouse is a great city... and as Chappers says, you will always be able to find something good and modestly priced to eat.

Bon voyage.

If you have enough free time Carcassonne is well worth a visit.

Can be cheap or expensive, you can get the 3 course menu du jour in plenty of places for between 11 and 15 euros. If you like duck you are in the right place too.

If you are not already working for Airbus, the Concorde and Airbus A380 factory visit is worthwhile.

If you fancy a day out from there, Albi, home town of Toulouse Lautrec is well worth a visit and not too far away.

By the seaside in West Somerset
loads of good restaurants around the boulevard strasbourg

casoulet (sausage and bean stew) can be a bit of an acquired taste but it's yummy and every restaurant has its own authentic and unique recipe

if you like steak there used to be a restaurant called "l'entrecote" which only served steak and serves great food at around 20/25 euros for a main course.
been there a few times and can recommend it as well worth a try

Frog & Rosbif is (was) the English pub/microbrewery. They have curry evenings and a dart board!

To get the best value in France, it's best to eat out at lunchtime and choose ther daily menu (as mentioned above). Cheapness depends on how you define it but I would certainly say that you will get value for money there.

Place Saint-Georges has quite a few decent brasseries. Otherwise, there is an alleyway with loads of good restaurants on it - can't remember name but if you go along rue Gambetta off the main square (Place du Capitole) it's on the left after a few hundred metres.

Agree with Carcassonne or Albi as daytrips but why not sample a rugby match (Stade Toulousain) or a footy match (TFC)? You might even see Kazim-Kazim!

For a night out, Bodega Bodega used to be a pretty lively place.
