 and 3 of them!!!

 and they played very well!!

must say though ledley king is now so assured at the back. some of the defending from him looks so easy when he does it. not worried at all when he has the ball now. and we all know defoe is a special talent who will score many goals.

+must say robinson in goal fills me with so much more confidence that i never would have thought i would see spurs players have the ball for england and be genuinly pleased/calm about the situation!

The great days of Gazza, Lineker, Hoddle & Waddle spring to mind! All great Spurs players and all did England proud....well apart from Waddles penalty and when Hoddle was England boss.....but still!

Agree about Ledley, bloody solid at the back, thing is Sven will no doubt pick Rio & Campbell before him but King deserves a starting place from now on I think. Sometime think that Terry looses him sometimes, maybe if he played alongside Campbell more then it might get watertight at the back more often? maybe.

Robinson is class and has been for ages, had no chance with the great finish last night, one small fumble but overall looke competant.

Defoe, had a good game and good goal, cant really ask for much more.

Hmm... I'd say Robinson was now. Obviously Kirkland has been touted as England No.1 for ages, but he's not proved himself in the Premiership yet, as Robinson has (kind of).

Agreed about King and Defoe though, they will inevitably be replaced by Campbell/Ferdinand and Rooney when they become available again.

For the first time in a while Spurs do seem to have a few genuinely promising young players on their books, and Santini might be able to squeeze them into a UEFA Cup place this year.

I think Ledley is a better defender than Terry.
His distribution is excellent.
We have got 4 world class centre back;
Rio Ferdinand
Sol Campbell
Ledley King
Danny Cullip

They aren't first choice but aer doing a good job for us at the moment. I had my doubts about King but he's doing okay.

One match in '87 (Turkey away I think) we had 5 Spurs players in the starting line up:

Hoddle
Waddle
Hodge
Allen (C)
Mabbutt

King must have put himself ahead of Terry, even if he does lose his place to Campbell and Ferdinand. Defoe is the form player against Owen, although I could understand him losing his place for the moment when Rooney is back.

Steve Hodge was rubbish.

87 was the year Clive Allen scored 49 goals domestically, but did he score any for England?

I would actually have Ferdinand and Woodgate in central defence when match fit and available. Campbell, King and Terry are awesome cover, though. This is one department on the pitch where we shouldn't have any worries for many years, assuming they all stay injury free and remember to take drug tests.

Robinson should now keep his place, as he has potential, whereas James has let England down several times and has never been consistant enough.

Defoe might actually oust Owen in time.

It really is scary that Spurs might finally be getting their act together!

Not so sure about Defoe, if Owen doesnt get much play at Madrid and doesnt have a chance to regain his form then I can see a Defoe & Rooney partnership (if sven has got the bottle to drop Owen) that has a 10 year international future to it.

Sadly King will do well to get in the squad when Ferdinand, Woodgate and Campbell are fit, Terry is better than King also.

Defoe will be benched when Rooney is fit, and Robinson again will find himself No2 to Kirlkland when fit.

Fair play to them tho, they are doing the Biz at the moment.

On the basis of what? The fact he plays for Chelsea? Ledley King has been the far better player in both matches, and had he not been dropped in Euro 2004, he may well not have allowed Postiga to equalise as easily as Terry did. 3rd or 4th choice he may be (if Woodgate can get fit & get a game), but he should not be behind Terry.

As for Kirkland, how about he wins his place back and plays a full Premiership season first? Until then, I can't see Robinson losing his no.1 shirt.

Agreed ledley king is playing well, however Terry is the better defender. Surely you can see that.

Kirkland once fit will replace Dudek in goal and will become Englands no 1.

This is what will happen. Sorry if that troubles you !
