Too Many Red Cards ?

I don't know about you, but I think there are too manygames ending with an imbalance in the number of players on either side.

A few years back, managers be-moaned the lack of consistency and now there is by far more consistency than there was (it'strue - just trust me on this!) they all moan about the rules being applied to the letter.

My problem is, the letter's all wrong !

When I played (at an inferior level, let me assure you), some of the cautions (bookings) and sendings off these days weren'teven a foul then (and we didn't have floodlights - we had a ball with a bell in it !!). It's true. you could scythe an opponent for a free kick and had to assasinate a president to get a booking !

I just think it's all got outta hand - a foul committed with the intent to win the ball and without malice aforethought, just being beaten by quickness of feet, thought or skill, is just a free kick - not a red and a ban.

Is it just me and my English senseoffair play and justice, or are we all becoming so European that as soon as a guy (or woman) falls to the floor it MUST be a foul???

Clue me in. peeps

Up a Hill
The trouble is referees are told to be harsher so they are tough with yellows,But then the player commits an offence that Has to have a yellow card punishment (say a challenge from behind or blatant timewasting) and they have to be sent off because the ref was harsh earlier handing out yellows!
