Andy Penn is top of the refereeing league it seems.

On the negative side, he's only been reviewed at one game, coincidentally involving Chesterfield. Hopefully that doesn't mean he's had his one good game for the season....

Our good friend Mr Prosser is not surprisingly some way down the list, averaging a huge 10 points less than Mr Penn.

Let's not get hung up on who the ref is. It's fairly simple.

We win = the ref was okay.
We draw = the ref was poor.
We lose = the ref was a :censored: disgrace.

Just apply the above approach to the average Radio 5 football phone-in on a Saturday evening and you'll see just how accurate it is.

Not strictly true. I thought that Matt Messias was, as usual, useless on Saturday. In no way do I blame him for us losing but he was shocking. He twice allowed players to come back from injury and make tackles within 2 seconds of being back on the pitch. He denied us the most obvious advantage ever. He refused to allow their player to receive treatment after he'd obviously been injured. And they were only the most obvious things.

Probably the worst refereeing perfomance I've seen was the guy with the disabled arm in change of our home game with Halifax. And we won. I try to be subjective when assessing referees and their will always be a bit of rose tinted viewing going on. But we have had some shocking referees making shocking decisions that impact on both teams.
