The lead singer of seminal punk band Television has died. Marquee Moon was one of the finest debut albums of all time but they never quite built on that early success. Saw the band a few times in the early 90s on their reunion tour - pretty impressive.
Been a grim start to 2023 with some musical greats already gone

That is really sad. I love Marquee Moon.
I also saw them in the 90s, really memorable gig.

I'm really saddened by this. Marquee Moon is in my top ten fave albums, and its title track has to be one of the best electric guitar recordings ever. Adventure is a terrific album too.

Such sad news. Marquee Moon was such a ground breaking album. I never saw Television live but I saw Tom as part of Patti Smith's band in 1996; Tom and Lenny Kaye playing together was great. A unique talent.

Sad to see his departure. I am going to put ‘Marquee Moon’ on later at full volume on my sound box and raise a glass whilst annoying the neighbours ( and wife).
