No sign of progress with Virgil van Dijk. Looks as though we still need a younger defender. Who are the options?

not a young defender but Stephen Warnock is on a free transfer. Not one for the future but could cut it this season and next season would be good experience if we got promoted. That Ignasi Miquel has always been thrown around but how good he is i wouldn't know, think he played against Bradford! He is very tall though 6" 4 so that could prove very useful in defence as well as giving us someone to throw up for corners. Could also be a player we could sign permenantly if we got promoted, it is important that if we get a loan player we have the potential to make it permanent if we advance next season, also Newcastle have some good young defenders. Im sure Poyet has broader eyes for players, but it is an area we need to think further than a short term solution.
