I thought beta blockers were eventually banned by the snooker authorities as an illegal drug.

Used by Bill Werbenick (RIP) and Neale Fowlds

I'm 43 and if Beta blockers improve your snooker let me know because I've never been any good at the game and it might be a sport I can take up.If they work I might get high blood pressure and con the GP. Is there any golf improving drugs I could use ?
Once had a joint whilst playing and it helped my putting I couldn't give a shit if I missed. The driving wasn't so good because I couldn't be arsed walking after the ball.
Does anyone not get gammy knees when they get older ?
Grey hair, put on weight, bad eyes, can't hear very well, gammy knees, oh! deep joy what all you youngsters have to look forward to.Now where did I leave my teeth ?

You'd better point him in the direction of the glass 'cos he won't be able to see it with his eyesight going.

I still have my own teeth although I do have a few crowns. I know of one person aged 43 who has dentures already.

Do any of our oldies have dentures yet? :D

would you bloody adam and eve it, I have been put on Beta Blockers!!! Seemly, the high blood pressure pills I was on havent taken my pressure down that much 180/120 to 165/95 so I have to go on these things ad infinitum!!!

Does anyone know if this will affect my ability to partake in alchohol?

Good luck Dave, but sometimes the "side effects" are worse than the condition !

Well I once took some Triludan + ( anti-histimines ) to cure some allergic reaction to pollen and ended up with severe adbominal cramps, I thought my appendix had just burst ! Never going to touch them again. Strange because the ordinary Triludan didn't affect me in the slightest.

And I've had to spend a fortune on my teeth to keep them in good order. Probably as a result of avoiding the dentist for 10 years or so, but I wouldn't want a repeat of my root filling again. Ceramic crowns, epoxy fillings and root fillings ( all private treatment paid for by me I might add ) cost me around £ 450, over and above the cost of normal check-ups and x-rays.

Day 2...the daily health watch

I am on Atenolol and I am not yet experiencing anything untoward.

My eye has healed up, although I am still taking the drops every 4 hours to complete the course.

All in all I feel ok, and maybe its a bit early, but am feeling somewhat calm and stress free.

I LOVE YOU ALL

There's a few Pompeydel, There's a few! :)

And in answer to Yorkie's question. No dentures yet!

I'm taking some medication for a mild complaint and they have to take bllod samples every so often to make sure I'm not suffering side effects (which I'm not) but as a by product of doing the tests they called me in to say my cholesterol is too high and I'm a bit overweight (I knew he second part...).
So now I've changed my diet and as I'm already on a keep fit kick (gym, running that sort of thing) because I have to attend a football course in a couple of weeks, hopefully the cholesterol will come down (blood pressure's OK, apparently).
But I'm 48 and I noticed a certain spring in my knees had gone about a year and a half ago. You know, when you jump down from a wall there's less 'bounce' than there used to be ! Or maybe that's just the weight...
Anyhow, I've lost about 6 pounds over the last couple of weeks just by changing the diet and ding a bit more exercise.

Oh, and I've had to wear reading glasses for the last couple of years too and I need them to work at the PC too.

So kids, about 46 by my reckoning and then things start to go, so start doing a diet, fitness regime before then to keep you going. A mate of mine still runs about 3 marathons a year and he must be mid to late fifties.
