And then there was the Rochdale away game where we lost 3-0 and were fortunate it wasn’t 6 or more. Ashley Neale in defence and Jason Peake of Rochdale, at that time, looking like Messi.
It brings back rather unpleasant memories. Possibly the worse spell ever as a Brighton fan. At least ‘I was there’. Anyone else at that game?
When opposition fans sing ‘where were you when you were shit?’ I say to myself, Rochdale, away Nov 1996.
A 6-1 defeat at Villa is nothing in comparison.

I was there, travelling with the A27 club mini bus. Waited outside for Bellotti to appear afterwards. Lots of Rochdale fans supporting us too which was a good end to a shit night.

f***ing hell. Only home game i can definitely remember going to was Hereford, for 70 odd minutes till we all walked out. And i was at Doncaster for that absolutely dreadful 3-0, vaguely recall a dreadful defensive mix up with Rust.

But look at that fixture on 26th October 1996, Brighton 0-0 Fulham. On 29th October 2023 its Brighton v Fulham in the Premier League, almost 27 years to the day.

Here and There
Always forget that Fulham were in League Two back then, that must have been weird for the fans rattling about in Craven Cottage during those times.
