I agree - total guessing for most of the answers bar a few. Who the f*** knows the angle of a hippopotamus' maw or the number of lightning flashes per second?

Yes, I didn't do very well.

Well JEM, those were 2 choice answers after all .
In Kuala Lumpar there are average 1,700 Lightning storms per year, but you are right in saying that not many could actually know how many per second or whatever.
Fairly obvious about the hippo gob, it wouldn't make sense to go more than 180 degrees.

10 out of 15 but none of those questions are going to help you through life, they're just trivia.

Exactly-it was a bit of fun and not meant to be life changing.

I do like General Knowledge quizzes but I felt this one was a bit bizarre.

Perhaps my sense of fun went out of the window yesterday Bwian.

Sorry :)

9. Question: Wounds infested with maggots heal quickly and without spread of gangrene or other infection.
Answer: True (This is because the maggots eat only the dead and suppurating flesh within a wound. This fact, first noted by WWI doctors in the trenches, is still used today in 'maggot therapy').
