I can understand why they want to act against certain websites mentioned in the article. For instance "Club Rape" doesn't sound like the kind of website NORMAL people visit very often. So therefore I can understand why they are keen to act on that. But it's if they start prosecuting people for innocent fantasy-type-porn, then it becomes stupid. No harm at all and I agree with you on the whole but their definitions of extreme porn are:

An act which threatens or appears to threaten a person's life
An act which results in or appears to result in serious injury to a person's anus, breasts or genitals
An act which involves or appears to involve sexual interference with a human corpse
A person performing or appearing to perform an act of intercourse or oral sex with an animal

They seem to be most worried about the word "appears" broadening the ability to ban stuff....

Personally I hope I never see any of the above.

I think this is the contentious issue. Of course porn involving animals can not be described as consenting and therefore should be made illegal, but in the cases of the other definitions because the word "appears" is included then this makes the whole thing a grey area. Porn that appears to depict interfering with a corpse may simply be just that. Appearing to be, but not ACTUALLY. If both parties involved are consenting to the act then what exactly is the problem? It's not my bag but it obviously is someone's idea of a turn on, and they cannot prove in any way that everyone that watches that type of porn is going to go on a killing spree or will rock up at the morgue looking to get their jollies.
