Anyone bought one?

We would like to get one for a friend of ours who has sadly left us - but they don't exactly give you much space: 2 lines, 16 characters on each including spaces.

It seems very limiting, just enough for a name on the first line and ..... not a great fan of just name and then 19xx-2011 (not very personal) but you can't fit much in with only 16 characters. We were hoping to quote some lyrics. Has anyone bought two? (ie - having them next to each other to fit more on).

I think the club has fecked up here - surely they could have had larger slabs allowing a few more characters?

I thought you had to get them in before March? or was it the end of March? I looked at it, could'nt be arsed in the end though, the Mosaic is enough.

Feel exactly the same. My brother and I wanted to do one with our late dads name as he first took us, our names and his 2 sons names, but doing all that in the space given was almost impossible.

Yes, 3 of us have ordered one for a friend who will never see the Amex. You are quite right about the limited space, it took us about 3 months to settle on something which fitted neatly but still said enough. Good luck, but you may have to contact the club as the cut off time was the end of February if I remember correctly.

Why be formal with full names etc?

Also, they're not just memorial stones - can be used for any message. I'm sure many will be relatively frivolous.

Looks good- is your photo guaranteed to be used in the mosaic? It isn't that obvious to me

Yes it is. Provided you get it in before all 2,000 spots are taken. Don't think they are near filling yet though.

We got one for my dad (who is very much still alive and kicking and will be in the WSU with us). It IS quite tricky with the limited number of characters, but we settled on

He's chuffed to bits, and welled up when we showed him the certificate.
