A ready made lasagne 4 days past its sell by date. A chicken leg from last weekends barbecue. A bag of salad - some of it's OK but the rest looks a bit slimy. A pack of sausages from the freezer with a sell-by date of 10 months ago.

Do you...

Close the fridge door and do not ever open it.

do not go near the chicken from the barbeque, it will make you very ill! as will the sausages. I wouldn't really trust the lasagne either.

The salad, that might not make you ill or anything but it sounds repulsive so i doubt it would be very enjoyable to eat!

may i suggest 675676.
can't go wrong with them.

I listen to Terry Wogan on Radio 2 in the morning. I am a ToG

Togs take no notice of sell by dates.

A friend of mine threw up for a day on out of date lettuce. Something to do with the way they wash it and bag it?

BTW Yorkie what is a ToG?

Seriously, I look at the food rather than the label.

If it looks and smells ok then I'll eat it. If it doesn't then I throw it away.

The only one I wouldn't would be the salad because it looks bad. I think I've probably eaten all the others. I read an article by a chef who said that you can basically double the use by dates on most pre-packaged food apart from fresh meat which you can see has gone off anyway.
I work part time at a supermarket so my entire diet has been made up of out of date food for the last 18 months and I haven't been ill once :lolol:

How wrinkly can you let a pepper get before it becomes inedible?

Lush . . .I thought a Ladiy like yourself only dined at the finest establishments ?

the thought of having to fend for yourself and or prepare your own board of fare must make you feel physically sick

on the realistic side . . . .I'll scrape mould off cheese, but meat is dodgy, bin it, or leave it out and hope top poison a few pigeons
