Gods country fortnightly
Amid the doom be gloom of the last week and yesterday, the reality is its all still to play for.

With exception to Newcastle, everyone we play will little to play for, ie Champions, Relegated or doom to mid-table.

Keep the faith

Yep, darkest before dawn. It's absolutely all to play for and doable. Big week of recuperation and resetting ahead - we all knew Villa would be tough and Palace a huge banana skin so with those out of the way we can hopefully go on a bit of a run - we've done it before at our lowest ebb . No win against Leicester however and I think that's that.

Next weekend will be key.

Not ideal that we have an out of form and inexperienced centreback pairing up against an experienced and wiley centreforward (who lobes a goal against us).

But it's an opportunity to get back on track.

Unfortunately, it's also my Dad's annual game - last time he saw us win was in the championship.

His premier League games include:
Brighton 0-2 Leicester City (against 10 men - both goals i the last 10 minutes)
Brighton 0-5 Bournemouth
Brighton 0-0 Norwich (complete with a missed Penalty and Moder injury)

He was also at Wembley for the Semi-final against United.

Edit: Just realised..... he hasn't even seen us score in the Premier League era ( last season was 0-3 vs Arsenal)

We certainly do have a kind run in: 5 games out of 7 against bottom-half sides. Then again, our horrible pre-Christmas run was similar.

I we had the squad available that we went into the Newcastle cup game with, I’d be really confident. However, Lamptey, Webster and Rutter for the season is a real blow.

It is against bottom-half teams that we tend to struggle, strangely.

'Twas ever thus!

5 wins, that's all, 5 from 7 games.
I didn't expect anything from the last two, although Villa would have been a bonus.
Leicester Home. If we cant beat them then it's all over and to be honest we don't deserve European football
Brentford Away. Bonus. A draw would be handy.
West Ham Home. Hardest game but a toxic atmosphere will help.
Newcastle Home. By now we should be on a roll.
Wolves Away. Season over for them, bags are packed.
Liverpool Home. Usual guard of honor. Time to upset half the kids in the crowd and most of the corporate boxes.
Spurs Away. By now we've done the 5 so this would be a bonus and also UCL qualifying.

Can you take him out for a very dodgy curry the night before?
