Not the greatest afternoon for me on the sporting front, l went to Crowborough, high up on the Sussex Weald, froze myself half to death watching Horsham YMCA's latest defeat 2-0, our sixth loss on the bounce.

Heard about Albion twice being pegged back, and losing two points in our quest for a European place for next season.

Then finally switching on the car radio on the way home to hear that England were losing 17-0 to our French cousins at egg chasing.

I've had better days.

A bit harsh on Smith in my opinion but that was a proper hammering. We've surely got no chance at the world cup. We're just not good enough.

Borthwick is out of his depth. The captaincy and No. 10 issues has been handled badly. England have a way to go, yes there is no shame in losing to this decent French side but this group of players should not have lost by this margin.

It is a crying shame that we are not led by Andy Farrell, or that Sean Edwards is not on board. And Mark McCall is on another level to Borthwick, as is Rob Baxter.
