The opposite of "the icing on the cake"

As Murray curled in the third, I uttered the phrase, "that's the icing on the f***ing cake", but thinking about it this morning that's not really right is it.

So what's the equivalent for a bad situation that just get's that bit worse.

"That's the phlegm in the face" perhaps?
