A lot of talk about it at the moment on the cricket. Having been to Old Trafford several times it always struck me as a rather big but bland ground and has been left behind by developments at other test grounds such as Trent Bridge and The Oval.

Well they've certainly tried to do something about it, just can't make up my mind if I like it or not, on one hand it looks an absolute monstrosity, but then on another it will only be fair to judge it when all is completed.

Opinions?

(Perhaps it needs an arch to really make it stand out?)

Think it will look great when they finish the one on the other side - very striking. Hints of the media centre at Lords though....but a bit more half arsed.

On another website I saw it described as a giant wine gum

It looks pretty horrible, they've tried to copy the media centres at Lords and the Kensington Oval but ended up with a cheap and nasty version

It could be worse though, take a look at what they've just done to Headingley and Old Trafford suddenly doesn't seem so bad.

It's a bit crap but, more to the point, the views from the back of the stand underneath it will be especially crap. If you have the misfortune to be seated there it will be like watching a match through a letterbox.

It's bloody hideous. Old Trafford has never been the most stylish of grounds but that looks like a carbuncle from Mars and just looks like the wrong thing in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Apart from that it's got everything going for it
