Post it all here.

Argentine referee Horacio Elizondo was the official for the first match of the World Cup and his whistle will also be the last one heard in this tournament. Elizondo has been named head referee for Sunday’s final between Italy and France. The 42-year-old who moonlights as a physical education instructor has officiated four matches already this World Cup and more likely than not is remembered as the guy who kicked out Wayne Rooney in England’s quarterfinal match against Portugal. Unless, of course, you are South Korean and remember him as the guy who made some questionable decision when South Korea played Switzerland.

Here is his record to date:

England vs. Portugal, 4 yellow, 1 red
Switzerland vs. South Korea, 10 yellow
Ghana vs. Czech Republic, 7 yellow, 1 red
Germany vs. Costa Rica, 1 yellow

Italy to wear blue tonight, France to wear white.

Forza Italia!

It's not really a case of who i hope to win, it's more a case of who do i hate less.

So erhm Allez Le Croisants!

Agree totally. For games between teams like these (i.e. where neither team can be supported by a neutral like myself) FIFA need to come up with a ruling that if the game is tied after 90 minutes no one is declared the winner. At least then I could watch in hope of a draw ;)

Oh go on then, Allez Les Blancs.

May the best team and lets hope its a good'n. Germany deserves an entertaining finale.

Agree with that sentiment. Don't really care who wins either way, so here's just hoping for a cracking game of football.

I'd love to see Zidane bow out by lifting Jules Rimet

The World Cup isn't the Jules Rimet trophy any more.

The Jules Rimet is the one they gave to Brazil to keep when they won it for the third time.

Before they showed the replays of the penalty being scored, I really thought it was another Geoff Hurst did it/didn't type of controversy. Shouldn't have been a penalty in the first place, though.

Forza Azzurri!!
